Firstly sorry if these have been suggested before.

A minor problem with GW is that I can never remember the names of all the characters of my friends and guild members.

So for GW2 I think when you create an account you should pick a last name for the account and then when you create a new toon you simply choose a first name.

What also might be a nice feature (selling point) is if each account had its own webpage with sub-pages for each character on the account and a link to the Guilds page. The account page could be customisable with all the usual nonsense that you find on those sorts of pages (friends lists etc).

The guild page could have links to the accounts pages for members of the guild, info about the guild etc.

The character pages could then have information like quests, missions completed skills locked and unlocked, and titles etc.

This will allow people to keep in touch whilst there not playing the game and see what things people have really done.

I just want more character customization. No person should look the same as another. More facial and hair options, as well as tatoos, piercings, scars, ect. For creating a character, there should be character customization that rivals the Create a Sim screen on the Sims 2.

Also, statistics are a trivial, but an extremely fun thing to look at every now and then. Things like a window that shows how many kills I have, Favorite skill, total gold acquired throughout all of the time I've been playing, ect. Web-code that would allow me to show that off online would only sweeten the deal.

Please continue with the awesomeness seen in the likes of Chaos Armour and

the Elementalist Headpieces e.t.c

Glowing Aura's, Glowing Armour and other ethereal lights and effects are

SUPREMELY COOL eye candy!.

Maintain the SEX APPEAL! and seductiveness of various characters.

There is a hefty user base who relish in the idea of "Styin" their beloved Chars

The "look at me" factor, is good fun and sometimes creates a interesting air

of pretense, which is both absurd, but hilarious at the same time, and is

actually another emotional dynamic at work.

When someone does notice your A Grade 400 trillion Ecto's color coordinated

dream Armour, it is surprisingly complementary ! . Little doubt there would

be Design savy people of all forms running around in GW , who appreciate this

fun outlet for expression. And it's Anet's extraordinary! Art Team who have

the ability to make this work so well !

Of course the other aspect is the environments, which are at moments

breathtaking have little doubt this will only get better!.

Can we expect Dynamic Day/Night Weather Cycles ?

Lastly the music, which in Nightfall really began to play a greater roll.

Battle Music was a great move!, and perhaps is still open to further

realization ?

It will be good to see equally impressive atmospheric /battle/ spell effects that all combine so richly in GW 1.

Lastly.......

PUH-LEEEZE! whoever puts together the Collectors Edition Packages, whoever
chooses the overall presentation, and layout of the goodies inside.

my god GIVE THEM A RAISE! .

Hands Down the most BEAUTIFUL PACKAGING OF A GAME EVER!

i literally could not stop folding that little velvet pouch , smelling

the fresh ink on the Art books !, the IMMACULATE! PRINT QUALITY OF THE

MAP POSTER! , it was almost WAX-like in texture!........

MUCH HAPPINESS!

you know anet has a business model of releasing an expansion/chapter every 2 years but for gw2 how about we try a new payment method here is my idea.

you have purchased gw2 now 2 years have gone by and they have released an expansion but you don't wanna pay 50 dollars up front to expand your world so instead you'd rather do a layaway type of deal.
its like a monthly fee but not really.

the expansion is released and anet is allowing us to pay as little as 5$ a month for it until we pay it off completely.
we get to play the expansion while paying for it.
you may pause your payment at any time and you may not enter the expansion again until you resume payment.
so you buy the expansion box at the store or micro payment it little by little using surfpin, credit card, or any other payment method.
it should in no way be an obligation to keep paying.

i couldn't find anywhere else to post this so i used suggestions as it is most relevant for this.

also im sure anet can think of a way to control these types of things so it wont be abused like for instance "no water behind the rocks" "they poisoned proof their water" because we certainly wouldn't like a million people doing these things all at once!

now this is easy simply suggest your own type of player controlled environment in gw2 (pce) i have a few of them myself here they are(these suggestions aren't out of the blue i took some time writing them down in Microsoft word 2003.

good vs evil supply sabotage: well since gw2 will probably be good vs evil (dwyana vs grenth) my suggestions is that somebody from the evil side sneak into the good side to poison their water supply so if anyone tried swimming in the lake they would suffer a negative health degeneration effect.

cry me a river: since gw2 will offer fully persistent worlds how about somebody climbs up to the top of a mountain and uses a lightning spell, earth spell, warrior attack, etc to destroy a bunch of rocks which leads to a massive flow of water creating a river for all the town players to use for swimming, fishing, and maybe even trigger a few quest (fetch that npc a bucket of water).

the falls: so again a player makes a big climb upward to destroy a dam created over time by natural causes so after a few days water becomes trapped behind it so a player gathers a group to destroy the dam which will create a huge waterfall then eventually an even huger lake which will be really deep where players could swim down their to find a big underwater monster with a nice drop (weapon, armor, cape, amulets, sword, etc) or all the water creates a hole which triggers a dungeon full of traps, secrets, and puzzles, maze, etc, and a tough boss which will take a huge group to kill and a long time.

burn baby burn!!:so a mage goes to a nearby forest and decides to burn all the trees with a fire spell which triggers a quest and adds a bounty to that player, so other players go accept a quest from an npc ordering to find and kill the player who burned the forest if the group is successful they receive a reward(cash, armor,xp,etc) also another quest is triggered, now that the forest is burned an npc asks a generous player to collect the remaining logs that survived the fire.

the castle still stands:a player finds a castle far away from towns and players the castle is a huge heavily guarded complex with many floors so the player finally sneaks his way to the top were an ancient hidden treasure is so the player goes through a huge door fights a huge ass dragon(alone) and finally steals the treasure so then after he has escaped the player gives the treasure to the king of any town and receives a reward so now that town has enough money for better houses, shops, supplies, and to make everything look bigger and high class and everything cost less with friendlier npc not suffering from poverty and that player becomes famous and loved by everybody.

so that is all i can think of for now i have refrained from using gw2 suggestion sticky because i would like to here suggestions from other players.
lets hope they don't find a reason to lock this because i think it is a very good suggestion for gw2.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As long as no matter what the case, a person still has some way of getting from start to finish of the game without absolutely having to do something related to these quests...

/signed

I do believe I read somewhere that in GW2, certain player actions will affect the environment. Any quests that open up should be purely optional, and if the action impedes a player in any way, there should always be at least one surefire way to get past it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXACTLY PLAYER CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENTS SHOULD JUST BE AN OPTIONAL BIT OF THE GAME AND THEIR SHOULD ALWAYS BE A WAY TO IGNORE THIS AND JUST GET ON WITH THE GAME!!

I recently heard they would be adding a REAL Z-Axis and a Jump command in GW2. If so, maybe use jump to dodge certain attacks/traps. Such as an arrow. Jump to dodge.

Also, if there is an equivelant for Assassins, make them like Altair in Assassin's Creed . blend blend walk behind guard *ASSASSINATE!* *RUN RUN RUN CLIMB UP WALL HIDE...yay they are gone*

1 more thing, take out Luxons and Kurzicks, make it like WoW a little more, where you can't be ONLY Luxon or ONLY Kurzick, make it so you can make any character on any faction. Like Undead and Alliance. I hate in AB people spam up the channel calling each other Suxons and Kurzdicks etc.

Yeah...No.

Let's not make this game like WoW shall we? If you want those aspects, go play in that world and leave this one to those who want it as it is.

Cantha has closed its borders at the start of GW2. So that means 1 of 2 things: a)there will be no AB in the initial campaign or b)there will be new factions to join in the initial campaign. Personally, I'd love to ally with the corsairs. Who doesn't love pirates?

In GW1 when i have a character, and someone puts me on friend list, I change character and he knows that that is my character. Please, give us privacy!!

EIKK.. this is not personally directed at you BUT THOSE ABOVE ARE TRULY AWFUL AWFUL SUGGESTIONS!. (i removed the ones that were not!, Dynamic Weather is desirable! )

Loosing health if you stay on to long ! ? What if you are AFK ? or just enjoy long sessions......... THATS A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE suggestion!

Climbing walls and trees? THATS just AWFUL!, what are they going to do monkey their way up them ? Could you imagine how awfully clumsy this

would be ? Who the hell climbs up walls ?

Without the Arrows, as is in the case in some dungeons...... Team's are viable to running around in circles aimlessly. YOU may want to think about

how to arrive at your location, whilst others would just like to get on with the mission. The arrows are very important and is why they are now

included in the GWEN Dungeons. It is not about searching endlessly for your destination!.

And lastly if you are in a GUILD it is designed to be a social gathering...... if you want "Privacy" just set your self to appear OFFLINE.

Having the name of the original character displayed is the only way for each other to keep track of who's who.......... and it perfect for this.

Guild Wars is a FIRSTLY a social game ! and secondly a personal one.

Arena Net has suggested that there will be climbing in GW2, possibly manifesting in many forms, as well as swinging, swimming, etc. .. .

I personally hope it plays like Prince of Persia, Tombraider in that you can also grab ledges, hang, side roll, duck, cartwheel, backflip . . ... everything possible in real life, and more.

Alright, so forgive me if these ideas have previously been mentioned, but I really don't have the will to read 38 full pages of posts. Here are a few of my ideas

Character Creation
I would like to echo the idea of characters not being tied to class. If I want a ranger body with and be a warrior then why shouldnt I be able to? Many games have character creation independent of class. It would be very simple to choose body type, facial type, and facial features, etc. Furthermore, I would like Monk options specifically to not be so outrageous (hair styles anyone?). Furthermore I think there should be a realism option where things like (perhaps) aging, battle scars, and tanning occur. Think about it. Many of us have characters that have been with us for years. A scar or two wouldn't be out of place on our weathered adventurers.

Race Buffs
I think the race buffs should be individual as well as party based. For example, Humans could have a buff called that allows for greater armor level when outnumbered (Courage of Man or something). This buff could give +40 armor rating to the individual and +10 to party members within earshot or something. The Charr could have Call to Arms or something. While I realize the race buffs are race specific, I think there should be a diversity component that promotes inter-race character creation and partying. Frankly, if there are other bonuses from our Hall of Monuments, why wouldnt we only stick to creating humans...more on the Hall later. Furthermore, I think there should be options within each Race. For example, I want a Charr that stands upright like a caster, not hunched over like the warrior class Charr.

Hall of Monuments
ANet has discussed that bonuses from having weapons, armor, titles, etc. in our hall will have bonuses that carry over to GW2. For each of my toons, I've bought an elite armor set, or 3 in the case of my monk. I read in the "Movement of the World" article that things for Sunspears in Elona have fallen into the ditch. My monk has elite Sunspear armor and is a Legendary Spearmarshall. I think that one of the bonuses from that should be that the Mordant Crescent should hunt my descendants without rest and the remaining Sunspears to welcome me with open arms. Similarly I'm a Legendary Delver, so the few dwarves remaining should know me.

The armor sets that I have accumulated should have benefit to recognition and should be wearable in some ancient form. Furthermore, if the earlier discussed realism function works then throw a few dents on the armor. I'm proud to show my battle experience.

Guilds
One of the most common complaints of Guild Wars is that there is a severe lack of Wars. I realize there is going to be a World PVP component in the Mists where complete 'servers' can battle against each other. I think that this should be lead further into a giant Guild organization where there are subunits of clans or have huge alliances where the subunit is the Guild. And let us have wars! Huge battles that never end. Where reinforcements show up as their friends log on and rush into the fray.

And for the love of ecto give us mounts to ride around the beauty that will be Guild Wars 2.

Ok guys, i've been reading allot of suggestions and i like many but some people seem to just want to turn Guildwars into an ordinary MMORPG just like the rest of those MMO's like WoW, RF etc. and i don't think Anet is aiming for those standarts.

One of the many reasons I play GW is that it's completely different from every other MMO i know, and i know alot! GW has some things from an RPG but also an MMO, and with the zone-style and town-styles it makes it a game unique from every other game and that's what i want to see back in GW2. A game that's completely different from all the other MMO's!

Hope you understand! :P

loading screens ftl.
why play the game and have fun when you can be sitting down for 5 minutes looking at a motionless picture like a zombie.
im sorry but gw2 would be better as one whole area not separated by towns outpost etc much like rs or WoW to eliminate the tedious down time of loading screens.
and to give us the chance to teleport instantly with no loading.
and to enter the game instantly with no loading.

For one part i think you're right and i do think that Anet has to remove the loading stuff.. but if they can make it so that you can upload it all at the instalation so u won't need to upload it in-game it will be a terrific idea!

And it also mostly depends on your comp's speed because i just do 5 seconds about loading..

And a thing about the area stuff.. i was thinking that it can be a whole area thing to but it can't lose the original GW zone transporting.. so i thought.. why not make an invisible border to every area.. and u can just walk around and stuff like in WoW etc.. but when u cross it u will get a flash through the screen like if you've just sprinted forward in an immense untrackable speed and that you then enter a different area, with the same monster/zone style as guildwars, but these do spawn once in a while.. but still on their own place.. and in their own area, like GW! but not that you kill them and they won't spawn. So you are able to see other players.. i'm going towards that stuff.. get me?

I also want that the mission remain!!! because that's what i love most about GW.. the missions!..

Well i think i've said enough..

I'd like to see the following happen:
  • Stable house for pets (so you can have multiples)
  • Don't lose any items, gold, etc. if you die
  • Heroes
  • Ability to use/wear weapons, armor, mini pets, etc. via the HOM (hopefully all weapons will be able to be added)
  • Same professions/combos that can be applied to different races
  • No missions where if everyone dies you fail
  • Removed DP would be nice but I don't see that happening
  • Heroes should be kept, and hopefully more than 3 in a group

I'm sure I can think of more but that's it for now. hehe

Assasin's or maybe new class that can sneak or stealth. Allow burglaries and stealing. Of course this will need higher npc intelligence. If some1 sees you give certain amount of payment. Also the coolest thing which i`ve seen in Ultima owning property such as taverns houses etc. Also as i mentioned before PROFESSIONS

Setting up shops is a great idea. Allowing people to buy and sell their items without trying to read a mile trade spam is great. Not having to worry about what district the seller was in, or rezoning to try and find a buyer would also help.

To bolster the economy, I would suggest adding in resources that are only available to certain play types. For example, add in items that are only obtainable in PVP or GVG, in addition to the PVE items available now.

And consider things like "Granite" or "Wood" or "Iron" to be limited availability items that have to be foraged in ways besides just beating down the bad guys. There are many players who just like buying and selling hard to find items.

What if certain types of steel had to be mined? But to mine it you needed iron to build an extractor, or you had to hire a ranger to scout / clear the terrain you were going to mine? And you had to fill you skill bar with extraction skills, rather than fighting or magic skills? I think it would require the community to rely on each other more if this were the case. Fighting groups would have to clear an area, scouting classes would have to locate the veins of ore, and miners would have to extract it, crafters would craft it into weapons and armor, and merchant classes could sell it. The level of coordination and sophistication would be fun for everyone I think.
